If you’ve ever wondered if you have what it takes to be a supervisor, this one-day workshop is for you! Or maybe you’ve thought about supervision but don’t know if you have the right mix of skills and competencies to be successful. Perhaps you’ve recently been asked to serve in this role but don’t know how to best prepare or if you even want to be a supervisor. Through discussions, self-reflection, classroom activities, and real-life scenarios, these questions and more will be explored and answered. You will walk away with actionable strategies and discover what you need to know, and do, in order to be effective in a supervisory role. You will be able to reflect upon your supervisory and leadership potential, learn tools to become an exceptional leader, and strengthen your skills around working with your team.
We’ll be covering relational awareness, managing up and down, coaching and motivating others, aligning your goals with organizational priorities, helping your team members achieve their goals, and harnessing the value of your leadership style. Whether you are an individual contributor, team member, or team leader, you will be able to have a better understanding of what is needed to be an effective supervisor. You will create a customized action plan to enhance your leadership influence, and you will take back to your organization myriad practical tools to take your team to the next level.

She is a Certified Everything DiSC Workplace® Facilitator and a Five Behaviors of a Cohesive TeamTM Accredited Facilitator through Wiley. Jan is also a certified facilitator of the Franklin-Covey programs, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and Leading at the Speed of Trust. Additionally, Jan is pursuing her Associated Certified Coach credential with the International Coaching Federation. She is a published author in several publications and is a featured author in two books, including Real World Career Development Strategies That Work.
She has been an active member of the National Speakers Association for over twenty years and previously served as president of the Northwest Chapter of the National Speakers Association. Jan has earned the Certified Speaking Professional designation (CSP) awarded by the National Speakers Association for platform excellence and client satisfaction.
